A nation’s resilience is determined by and built on the very events that challenge it. From natural disasters to public health emergencies, these events test the systems and infrastructures put in place to protect and care for our communities. As the world changes, our country and those who call it home expect faster and more effective responses to these changes. As the world changes, we must prepare.

Founded by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Biomedical Advanced Research & Development Authority (BARDA), the Resilience Intelligence Network is a national network of academic medical institutions, governmental officials, private partners and thought leaders passionate about shoring up our national, state and local healthcare preparedness and resilience prior to, during and after emergency events.

Our mission is to create ready-response systems by using an evidence-based, network-of-networks approach to build new and foster existing healthcare emergency-response systems for the private and public sectors. Leveraging our state-of-the-art technology platform, Project Meridian, and our existing network of over 100 of the nation’s top critical care centers, we tackle some of our nation’s most difficult and meaningful emergency response problems.

We are driven by the belief that proactively studying emergencies and traumatic events is integral to surviving and preparing for the future. In addition to developing systems for active coordination of emergency response, our platform leverages existing partnerships and affiliations to improve emergency protocols and infrastructure at the national and local levels. It’s what drives us to innovate technologies crucial to public and private sector emergency responses. It’s why, with every passing year, we strengthen our preparedness efforts while constantly monitoring performance to deliver vital post-disaster evaluations of our response. And it’s how we provide an immediate pulse on the state of our nation’s healthcare resilience today and tomorrow.
