Washington, D.C. The Resilience Intelligence Network’s inaugural Network of Networks meeting convened medical and governmental thought leaders from across the nation to discuss the future of disaster preparedness and the potential to cultivate a resilient nation. Motivated by consensus from a 2017 National Academy of Sciences Workshop to assemble experts in preparedness and clinical research.

Finding Answers to the Resiliency and Preparedness
Questions of the Future
The Network of Networks conferences convene to address three key topics:

Commonalities: Sharing networks’ insight with respect to administrative preparedness for prospective clinical trials during an emergency event. Topics included: protection of patient and family identity and privacy; IRB human subject research review; real time communication during emergencies; and harmonization of research efforts.

Funding: Discussing opportunities and strategies to diversify preparedness funding individually and in collaboration with institutions and providers.

Informatics: Reviewing data preparedness, including evolving standards for real-time data aggregation, analysis, reporting and feasibility of a research emergency analytic engine.
